England '18 | travel
Confession : I am terrible at taking my camera anywhere, or taking pictures/videos of things going on in life. It's big, and I don't want to break it, etc etc.
I took it to England and made Andrew carry it everywhere and because I made him carry it he made sure I took pictures! And because I don't post nearly enough on this blog, here is a little peek at our trip!
I love to travel, and having friends living in a different part of the world is always a good reason to go somewhere new! We booked our trip somewhat spontaneously and then bought and closed a house a few weeks later - which also wasn't really planned, but that's another story. We decided to go anyway and had the best time. It was our first 'big' trip together, and our first time in the UK!
Our second day there was also my birthday(what a coincidence!) so we took the train in to London! I am a big ole Potterhead, so the first stop was Kings Cross Station. We waited in line to take these photos, and while we were waiting I got sorted(Gryffindor, obvs).
It was magical.
We hit up the British Museum, which is full of cool stuff and also free - bonus
All I could think of was how someone should get married in this big beautiful lobby
We stayed a little north of London, and one very cool thing nearby was Kenilworth Castle- originally built in 1120( so just a few years old)
we now have more than one picture together, which is nice
We hit up Stratford
MTV Cribs : Shakespeare edition ⬆️
And went back into London..
Tip for Budget Tour of London: Just walk by all the cool stuff and take pictures
PSA : Big Ben will be covered in scaffolding for like the next three years
We drove for a while and found these big rocks that they charged us to look at
jokes. Stonehenge was pretty cool, but also not as big as I thought it would be, obviously still very impressive.
I have to say that the yellow sprinkler(not pictured) watering the grass in the middle of the stones was a bit of a mood killer.
We checked out Salisbury and did not get poisoned
and the grand finale...
HARRY POTTER WORLD
warning: SKIP these photos if you plan on visiting HPW yourself because it was all such a magical surprise, or if don't want the magic of Hogwarts dampened.
Yes, I died of happiness a little.
If you just came here to see the photo of me trying to climb on a lion like a beached whale... you are welcome.
